Almost all Album Plates have printed backs from which it is possible to identify the sets to which they belong. Specimens of typical backs from each set are included in the selection of cards provided under the Verkade Main Page.

The exceptions to this rule (i.e. the plates with blank backs) are:-

    2 (vertical) half-page plates from De Bloemen en Haar Vrienden (VKD26)
    9 full-page plates (1 per album) from Mijn Aquarium (VKD16) through to De Bloemen en Haar Vrienden (VKD24).

Although the full-page plate from Apen en Hoefdieren in Artis (VKD30) had a printed back the plate number was not shown (presumably because it was the only large plate in that album). The full-page plate in Vogels in Artis (VKD31) carries only a small amount of text on its reverse side, none of which helps to identify the issuer, set title or plate number.
